More importantly, how is the mount secured to the wall? 3"+ long wood screws or larger? At least 4 of them mounted into studs?
If the mount is metal, and fairly sturdy, 55 lbs shouldn't hurt the mount itself. It's much more dependent on the way it's mounted on the wall.

It's two thick arse metal bolts into the stud. Without going downstairs to look at them, is say they're three inches long each.
Yeah I'm not worried about the mount; just the TV falling out the wall, so your post is helpful. Thanks. Sounds like your comfort level is low with just two bolts.
