There is a song that plays at all my family's weddings in BR...it's like country/easy listening and everyone line dances to it...?

No...it's more like a crossover song...not straight country.

Maybe something like a broken heart in it?

I feel like a song about a broken heart wouldn't be appropriate at a wedding.

Yep...Ronnie Millsaps if you don't want me!

The freeze is apparently the name of the line dance my baton Rouge side of the family knew so well.

Any reason that it was always played at those BR weddings?

You're welcome. First thing that came to mind. Don't think I've ever attended a wedding in south La where it wasn't played. Not necessarily a BR thing but more like a south La thing, or at least SE La.

I have laffy, br and then a bunch of Nola family.

Huge family from Yat to country to Cajun. Weddings in Nola al ways meant new Orleans ladies and strokin...br meant that song and laffy meant bring it home to me (the zydeco version). For me, these 4 songs will forever be associated with weddings and a sense of place.

Been to 40-50 Nola weddings...I can't say I recall it there. It may be a Sela thing though.

I was going to suggest Copperhead Road.
