and Coutierie Forest. Cars are parked at the entrance all hours of the night and early morning. I suspect there are desperately lonely men meeting each other in the bushes.
Never seen much of the previously mentioned gutter punks, but the queers have been an issue.
Very first time I went out there I parked near there to ride my bike. Had three different guys eye check me.
Then went jogging on the trails once and saw several strange guys walking. Then I read up on the stories about the place, including some bitching in the newspaper about wanting to chase them off.
Those instances were five years ago. Seems to be much better now that the trails is more well known and more of the normal people are using it. I and several friends always take our kids there and see lots of other families.

That has been the case forever, at least as far back as 30 years ago.
Growing up, the road running from Harrison to the soccer fields was known by everyone as Homo Highway.
There used to be a restroom on Marconi by Popps fountain, they fenced it and shut it down in the 80s because dudes were buying/selling blowjobs.
And scout island always had a few fruits in thongs out sunbathing when there weren't soccer games or other stuff happening.
Couterie forest area didn't use to be bad. we'd go back in there all the time, see people fishing usually. Though we did see occasional weird shite back there.
