Some favorite memories:
Streetlight Manifesto at the House of Blues with one of my best friends. We had a blast and then met the band after the show. Great memory.
Pearl Jam at Jazz Fest. I almost got smoked with a runaway drumstick towards the end of the performance.
ZOSO at the Varsity, was a spur of the minute decision to check out their show after the planned activities on my second date with my now SO of 4 years had taken less time then I'd anticipated. She spent most of the concert poking fun at the lead singer's Robert Plant impersonation and his ridiculous pants.
Flight of the Conchords at the Santa Barbara Bowl. It was my senior trip. I had just graduated high school, my middle brother had just graduated from LSU. He had just gone to the beach for spring break, so we chose to go out west instead to Los Angeles. Arj Barker opened up. It was unbelievably funny to watch him at first because there was a whole 2 rows of children right in the front. He was really unsure of himself when he got to the profanity-laden punchlines. It was really great when he very gingerly edged into his first "f%$k", unsure if it was ok. When he saw the children laughing, and more importantly their parents and chaperons, he loosened up and started spreading out his profanity like sprinkles on a sunday. Then, Bret and Jermaine came out in Robot Costumes to sing "Too Many D&@ks on the Dance Floor". It was a great night.
