I can tell you the reason teachers do this though. They get mad when kids skip out on doing their bullshite assignments and still ace the tests. A lot of kids can pass 6th grade tests almost as soon as they go through the concepts once without doing the homework n bs classroom assignments. Teachers want the kids doing those things regardless if they have already mastered the material or not.

I was once sent to the principals office for reading a book in class after being told to pay attention. I was acing the class with flying colors but the teacher was insistent that i still needed to pay attention to the lectures

I doubt teachers spend more time than necessary on mastered skills.

Just curious though, how are you such an expert with 6th grade?

A) "a lot" of students do not master the material the first time simply by "going through the concepts." Every student is not you.

B) teachers have their reasons for this. They're not mad at you for knowing the material. Kids have a very strong sense of justice. The dumbest MF in the room sees you not paying attention and they will begin dicking off too. It doesn't matter that you know the material and they don't. You can't tell Joey to pay attention and ignore Steve who is also not paying attention for whatever reason.
