Coquette, La Petite, Link spots, Patois, etc... are probably the sandbox you want to play in here and not the August, Commanders genre

I kind of agree, although I think August and Commander's are first rate.

Personally? I may suggest something along the lines of:

Lilette
La Petite Grocery
Gautreau's (call ahead for sure)

Peche is great but completely different experience, imo. Plus I hope they don't mind yelling at each other during dinner.

I think I'd tend to agree with that, but I would think any out of towner would enjoy the chef's table at Commander's as that is pretty uniquely NOLA.
