then me and the wife run to the daughters room to grab her and I put them in the closet while I switch the breaker box to off (its in my daughters closet for some reason), then I sit in the main hallway and wait

Go to furthest position of entry in house from family. Shoot before they enter to draw fire away from family.

Put wife and kids in one room, have wife call 911. Turn on every light I can in the unoccupied rooms. Set the home security system off so the siren alarms and it calls the police (just in case wife gets a stupid 911 dispatcher). Hope that the alarm is enough to scare them away. Have shotgun in one hand and pistol in the other & wait to lay waste to any motherfricker stupid enough to enter my house.

Would need to rely on the dogs here to keep them at bay at different points while I found a central point to address the issue if they got by the dogs. They would not get to the top of the stair case since I'd have a much better line of sight on them and they'd only have that one way up.
