Sizeable sure, but "world's apart"? For track athletes yes, in football not nearly significant as you are trying to make it out to be.

i say that because once you hit that 4.80, there arent many guys that can play in the NFL.
there are handful of RBs that are 4.69ish guys
its not like we're talking 4.40 and a 4.54.
4.54 is fine for a RB. There's still a .14 difference, but its playable. 4.83 is not. It's worlds apart because it puts him out of that range that makes an NFL RB

4.69 and 4.83 is worlds apart for a RB. 4.69 is average slow. 4.83 is running in mud for a RB

Very slow time but like some others I think he can find a spot in the league. RBs in the league or so fly by night that he can find a job for a year or 2 and just bounce around practice squads and be called up a couple times a year due to injury. He has talent running the ball.
What was his 10 yard split? That's all that matters. A back like him isnt gonna be running 40 yards very often. If he can hit the hole hard and break tackles then he can play in the league. That gif against OM shows he can play the position.
Its a crap shoot. Trent Richardson was supposed to be the next great thing and he can't even play well for a team where he's the only real RB. You never know how a guy us gonna grind when its play for pay

If Jarvis Landry can do what he did as a rookie WR with 4.66/4.77 speed, it is possible for a RB to stick in the NFL for a few years with 4.83 speed. 40 times are more important for perimeter players than RBs. Now, what might hold Hilliard back is that he may not have enough agility/acceleration to make up for the lack of high end speed. But it is certainly possible to be agile and explosive and not be very fast.
Now look at Hill, Hill ran a 4.66, but he is explosive enough to have elite NFL talent. How can Hill be so good at 4.66 and yet you claim 4.83 is "not playable?"

Anyone know of a gif with Hilliard trucking that poor GA db in the SECCG?

WR's are different than RBs. You can throw a WR open. You can get open by running good routes. You can catch passes with body position and great hands.
for a RB, it's hard to do anything when you are slow and lack explosiveness.

4.66 and 4.83 is a huge difference.
Anyway, Jeremy Hill ran a 4.59 at 233lbs. AKA explosive.
If you can find 5 RBs in the NFL that run 4.83 i'll suck you off. shite try finding 3 or 1.

I'm a huge Hilliard fan but man that is bad. Dlinemen run faster than that.
He won't be drafted but I hope he can make a roster.

As awesome as it would be for you to have to suck this guy off...that's not gonna happen. Arian Foster and LeGarrette Blount are two of the slowest RBs in the NFL, according to 40 times, and they were both around 4.7
4.83 is like a death wish for a RB
