About 10 years ago I was hiking with a group in the White Mountain National Forest and we had just reached the peak of Cannon Mountain. We decided to break and have lunch, and then we started to hear a loud noise. We kept looking for the source, but couldn't see anything. Then, an A10 flew BELOW us and hugging the mountainside. I vividly remember looking down into the cockpit. Evidently the Western Mass. National Guard likes to use the area for training as the terrarian is similar to parts of Europe.

That's awesome. I love me some A-10s. P-51 is my all time favorite.

I don't see much flying over Athens. Occasionally some Osprey, but no cool fixed wings.
