Well if his criteria is simply a good place with good schools for his children, then there are plenty of other places that are on the same level or better than Texas.

Right. It's pointless to provide a response to this.
And the poor schools reason is a copout. If you're a halfway decent parent to your kids and make informed decisions your kids will be fine being educated in Louisiana.
Just not liking the state because of the people, not meshing w/ interests, etc. is a much better reason.
