you should really own a black iron pot if you do a lot of cooking. that's just my opinion though and I mean nothing negative by it. you can find some nice large pots for around 50-70 bucks that come pre-seasoned and will last you the rest of your life if properly cared for. now is a better time than any to go out and get you one.

eta- I have the 5 qt that gris linked and honestly, it rarely gets used.

Couldn't agree more. I have an 8 qt. cast iron pot that I use more than anything else in the kitchen (except for my non stick pan I use to cook eggs.)

No doubt, had a somewhat recent break-up and have spent the last few months building up my stock of cooking supplies.

Use mine all the time. I make rouxs in them a lot.
