And as for your question, Shaq or Pistol? LOL! Ask anybody that seen both of them play who was better.

I'm a gigantic Shaq fan but Pistol should definitely have one-as a memorial foremost.

Last year Jindal proposed that LSU needed to build a statue of Pistol Pete out in front of the stadium

I would hope Jindal would have more pressing needs on his mind with a devastating budget cut to higher education on the horizon...but then again, he created this disaster and spends more time out of state than in state.

Both Pistol and Shaq were freaks. I don't compare. I like to think of them both on the court in their prime on the same LSU team. Yeah, that's my happy place. Everything Pete missed, Shaq threw down. Everything Shaq blocked, Pete took to the other end of the court on the break only as he could, while Shaq trails and gets a double behind the back pass for Shaq's goal breaking dunks. Again, this is my happy place.

Should have put one of Pete waaaaaay before putting Shaq up there. I think in terms of legend/folklore of LSU Basketball, Pete is by far the more prominent player.

I also have an issue about erecting statues of live people.
