You guys are factually wrong. The interest IS there for better coverage. Not football coverage. Not baseball/Basketball coverage. But definitely on par with women's basketball which only draws 3053 which is way less than gymnastics. The interest IS there and with a great demographic, the parents of affluent teen girls and the affluent teen girls themselves who buy a lot of stuff . Based strictly on attendance and interest in the community it deserves more coverage. Props to Channel 2 for getting that. Sure it's not page one stuff but it deserves strong coverage.

I agree that there is a need for marketing, but I stand by the fact that the university is heading in that direction. The top notch practice facility that costs $$$$ is a huge commitment to the sport. In addition, the Tiger Spotters is a booster club that emails a newsletter to you a couple times a week letting you know what's going on.
I'm not sure what you guys expect the university to do about the newspaper not covering a sport. Maybe the OP should write a letter to the paper? As stated previously, the newspaper will focus on what they perceive to be their core reader.
