Stine Lumber was a big deal back in the 80's. I did maintenance on their computer systems back then. They had stores all over south LA. Then Home Depot and Lowes took over.
Stine lumber is still a big deal if you're a contractor especially considering Home Depot and Lowe's sell junk lumber and dont keep in stock what Stine's does. Order a lam beam or some trusses from HD or Lowe's and see how long it takes you to get them then call Stine's.
Stine's has great commercial support where as HD and Lowe's really concentrate on the average consumer and couldn't care less about contractors.
Even Builders Sav-Mor sells better lumber and keeps more in stock than HD and Lowe's.
