lot of stuff on here LINK
I like your stuff.
I used to dabble in writing songs as a hobby back in the 1990's on up until around 2003. I haven't really played any music since then though. Around 260 song ideas, with ~100 or so being actual songs. Started out doing alt rock, moved on to electronic rock, and finished up in the alt country genre.
It can be very frustrating when you do your own instruments and vocal melodies, but can't sing them at all. I would usually record my vocals anyway just for posture, but a guy once told me I had the voice of a dying chicken.
Anyway, I've been toying with the idea of getting back into it.

Nice singing/songwriting.
Kind of weird, but I knew that "To Keep From Being Lonely" reminded me of something. Nagged at me until I could finally figure it out: "Hold on Blue Eyes" - LaMarca (from The Wraith soundtrack)

An official TD band comprised of TD members only, mayhaps?

Really enjoyed that, JOJO. Very kinetic. I especially liked "Female Bodybuilders." Just followed you on Soundcloud. The album has a live feel to it. How was it recorded? What instrument(s) did you play on the album?
If another board user doesn't get back in touch with me soon, I may be interested in collaborating with you on a short film I'm shooting at the end of this month. Hit me up and I'll email you the screenplay.

it was recorded in an old house here in downtown houma.
for drums we just hung a mic above the kit (same type of mic used for led zeppelin drum recordings). we recorded bass and drums together, and then did guitar (which i play--just to answer your question). finally we did vocals, then mixed, and sent off for mastering.
it was recorded by Joe Stark, whose band Babybee is a national act from Houma. It was a really laid back setting, and lots of fun.
definitely interested in a collaboration, i'm shooting you an email now.

Screw it.
I just created a soundcloud account and posted one of my old rock songs. I did all the instruments and, unfortunately, the vocals as well.

I don't think the vocals are bad, can barely hear them though, they should be louder in the mix.

The song suited me a little better than most of my songs. (That's why I posted it) They're all bedroom recordings, though.

I really like "How you've grown".
That was from a poster in this thread named monsterballads. I really liked it as well.

Ahh ok. That song started playing after the one you linked ended.

Some good stuff posted already, I write, play guitar a little and try to sing. Got a studio project going on,but nothing mixed down and ready to play yet.
I would like to contribute to this thread..can anybody tell me how to use this digital recorder?
I traded for it a while back, and haven't used it yet. I would like to put a couple of songs on here and get in on the fun.

what kind of digital recorder is it?
Posted on 2/9/16 at 11:52 am to auggie
Download Audacity, it's free, then you'd just need a microphone or a usb recording device to hook up to your computer and you'd be good to go.

I use a Rocksmith digital converter cable (probably $20-something) to plug my electric guitar, MIDI controller, bass guitar, and drums into my laptop. You can download Mixcraft for free (demo). Should be enough to get you started.

It's a Boss Br-800
LINK
A guy traded it to me for a guitar I had.It was new, unopened box, I have plugged it in and turned it on,but have yet to try and use it. I've been reading instructions some though, and it's not as simple(at least for me) as they make it sound.
Have used old 4track type stuff before, and I know this is better, but it's a lot more complicated.
It won't take the place of doing things in he studio, but can be a great way to work some things out beforehand and save some studio time and money. That is..if I can learn to use it properly.
There are some videos on youtube about using it. I am gonna be home for a few days, gonna attempt to get some simple stuff down.
