same here, really thought about leaving though since they had lined me up for an entire day of interviews with about 8 different people. I guess that was the norm for this company, probably part of the reason I didn't like the place.

No because I love the moment of uncomfortableness when you tell the person interviewing you that the pay is too low for you to even consider the position. I always wait for that moment after I have thoroughly impressed them and pretty much secured the job to bring up pay.

This.
The only time I ever left an interview with a "after discussing the position, I'd like to take my name out of consideration" was a woman who wanted me to violate accounting codes and opt out of state worker health insurance benefits.

I was promised to be taken care of by the bank I worked for through college. It was a job in a department nobody wanted to work in, but I could work almost any hours I wanted. Was told that despite no experience in the department my degree suited me for, they would immediately promote me and I would be taken care of for my loyalty. In the interview for the promotion, I was offered $10.47 an hour on a yellow sticky note slid to me upside down. (I will always remember that number) I walked out of that one and would do it again.

I may be thinking that this is a complete waste of time, but NEVER do something that stupid by walking out and burning the bridge.
