For someone who hasn't lived in Louisiana since the early 90s. Hawthorne's voice was what I searched for when games weren't televised.
Picking up WWL at night or scanning Sirus channels for the broadcast, it was always Hawthorne's voice that first alerted me that I had found the game.
I remember stopping on hill tops where AM reception was clear and listening to critical pieces of the game before I'd continue my Saturday night drive.
I hope they find a quality voice and knowledgeable broadcaster to take his place. Honestly, I'd like the person to have a Cajun accent so that I'd know I had found the game without looking at the display.
