I honestly can't even think of one Uptown. I'll keep thinking about it.
Norma's in Midcity and Katie's in Midcity both have very good ones.

If you are a little flexible on the Uptown requirement pop right over to Cochon Butcher in the WHD. They make a damn good cuban. If you must stay Uptown for it, Rum House makes one that isn't half bad. Stein's makes one but only on Fridays.

Tartine. Love that place. If you're feeling like a sandwich also consider Milk Bar or St. James Cheese Co. Both top notch sandwich slingers.

One underrated gem is The Grocery on St. Charles Ave. in the Garden District. They have a great pressed Cuban.

St James can be pricey. I like milk bar.

High Hat makes a good (if more overstuffed than is traditional) cuban sandwich.

Little higher than normal. But the ingredients and flavors are quality. Really like the side salad they serve w/ their sandwiches.
