i hate to say this but you jumped the brick layers shite too soon and didn't let him finish his job and the finish on that last 1/4 was never going to match if it was done with a diff technique.

2 questions. this has nothing to do with the brick,
1. is this like most houses in SLa built on a slab?
2. when was the slab poured?

I agree. There is no way I would change the technique midway through a job. Especially on the same wall where it's so easy to see the differences right next to one another.
