If ESPN went a la carte, you would not be paying only $5 per month.
They reason they "only" charge $5 per month is because they get like 100 million subscribers because it's included in nearly every cable and satellite package.

My point being that EVERYONE would subscribe directly through ESPN and they wouldn't have to pay a middle man.
They could charge $5 and make more than Sling is paying them.
