Well, I'm not fat or midwestern (any more) and I'm sure we will somehow find a way to enjoy ourselves. I haven't spent much time on St. Maarten but I did enjoy the fact that it has differing cultures on the island when I was there and it was a place I wanted to explore more. I can't say the same for many other islands that I've been on.
I do understand what you are saying though because you've described St. Thomas perfectly. The only reason IMO to ever visit St. Thomas is to get to the ferry to St. John and the BVI which I do frequently.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)

Take your kids to the rope swing/climb at rotarie farms. I also had a good meal there after the climb.
