I could live closer, but what would I be giving up to do that.
Come Friday afternoon, I have miles and miles of safe roads to ride my bike, I have a ridiculous amount of parks within walking distance, more restaurants than I care to eat at, etc.
I could live closer to downtown, but I'd be paying nearly twice as much. My wife would probably have to go back to work and we would have to send our 4 month old son to day care. I wouldn't have a yard for my dog, etc.. And I'd still have a decent drive as my work is spread all across Houston. I certainly do not mind the driving if it means the time that I spend at home is that much more enjoyable.
