My mom came here in the early 80's and my dad came here in the early 90's. So I am an American of Indian descent (first gen Indian-american).

Anyone who doesn't like ghee is an idiot. Its clarified butter, used in 100% of all restaurants.

The real tragedy of Indian food in the U.S.....the diverse, hugely varied cuisines of a billion plus people has been reduced to a single, Mughal influenced northern Indian "restaurant" standard menu. Butter chicken, biryani, tandoori, etc. We get virtually no southern Indian and NO regionally focused places, unless you travel to Houston.
