The product sells itself. With the concussion lawsuits, declining youth participation, etc. the NFL will eventually fall. Get ready for the resurgence of baseball and the building of basketball and soccer.

The irony is that the parents who are "protecting" their kids by keeping them away from football are moving them into soccer, which is a MAJOR concussion sport.

Very ironic. I played soccer for years (small school that didn't offer football) and don't understand the soccer concussion issue. The stats don't lie though.

People either need to accept that there is a risk in sports or prepare for all games to be ruined by over protection.

Soccer has to be doing something right on that front, though or the risks are still not as great as playing in the NFL because it doesn't seem (and please correct me if I'm wrong) that soccer players are suffering such egregious effects from playing their sport, post career.

Though it's probably more fair to say that playing football potentially leads to a whole host of issues, of which concussions are only one (albeit a major) part.

Is it? Haven't ever looked up soccer concussion data. I don't feel like I've seen many concussions in soccer. 2 in high school, maybe. 1 or 2 in 2 years of club soccer at AU.
