When I first moved to Italy I didn't know how popular this shite was. If you asked for water (acqua) most times they'd give you this crap. I learned real quick to ask for acqua naturale. frick a acqua frizzante.
yes. in Paris we always had to double check it was "still"

How many hours do you work a week? And do you have to take call?
Posted on 1/26/15 at 10:02 am to Paige
Lith has been a doctor for a long time though. You can't really base things with your doctor off his answer. I'm sure he had horrible hours starting out.

Morning Nursie.
Paige, I've never had honey water. Try it and let us know.

Well I know he works ER so i thought he might have an idea. But you're right. They say you work a ton in residency
I don't think you saw my post in the grocery store thread. Did you know there are a bunch more cookie butter products, like sandwich cookies, ice cream and cheesecake?

Get an infusion water bottle. You can chop up fruit and the bottle has a special place to place the fruit at so it flavors your water without getting all mixed up in the water.
My favorite is raspberries and some limes.

ER docs don't take call. They work shifts. They are either on or off.

I did not. That could be dangerous info

Yeah. I saw them on the website. Sounded like things a cookie butter lover would love.
I know it's stupid but I can only have so much fruit a day. And I have to drink my water from glass bottles
Thanks, Wink. I was just wondering about that. Taking call seems like the worst part. You're not working, yet you can't do shite

my oldest did a job shadowing of a neonatologist.
I don't think I have ever seen anyone so determined to go to medical school in my life.

You just learn to deal with it. You can do some things when on call. You either do something where you can leave relatively quickly or you take two cars. Being on call, especially for long stretches, is miserable but all the studying is also annoying. Even when they are off, all they do is study.
It's just part of it. You learn to do other things. Don't let it get to you much. If it does, you may want to peace out.
Really though, the biggest worry is hoping our kids get to know their dad since he won't be around a lot. I know that's going to stress me out the most in the future.

Imagine how it is when both parents are doctors? We have a couple husband/wife duos here and I don't know how they do it. I've talked with some of the surgeons(the non a-hole ones...they do exist) and that is one thing they talk about a lot...not having enough time with their families.

Aww. That's so sad Wink. The neurosurgeon I worked for made his own schedule which was a regular weekday work schedule and only took call one weekend a month. He was older though. But his kids still adored him
