Kind of disappointed The Honourable Woman didn't win.

Happy to see JK Simmons win

No Mad Men? Is it because of the split final season and extended break between? Golden Globes were the same?

That should have gone to either Game of Thrones or House of Cards....

Eddie Redmayne is your frontrunner for Best Actor. He's won the Golden Globe and now the SAG.

Birdman is your frontrunner for Best Picture. It won the PGA last night and now has won the SAG for Motion Picture Ensemble.

Idk if it's the frontrunner yet. There's no way Boyhood was winning the SAG no matter what.

Disappointing.

It's the obvious frontrunner right now. Birdman has won the top prize from the Producers Guild as well as the Screen Actors Guild. Richard Linklater will more than likely win Best Director at the DGAs for Boyhood but if Inarritu manages to snatch that away from him then it is definitely Birdman's to lose.

I disagree. The PGA award made it a tight race in which Boyhood was way in front before. The SAG award did nothing because Boyhood was never winning that.
I agree that if Inarritu wins the DGA then Birdman is in the lead.

This is exactly what the proponents of Brokeback Mountain said when Crash won the SAG for Ensemble. It's the only thing Brokeback Mountain did not win and it turned out to be huge. The actors are the largest voting branch of the Academy.
And the last time a film won the PGA outright and failed to win the Oscar for Best Picture was in 2006.

Birdman is an actors movie, which is why it won tonight. Boyhood is more of an artsy movie. Golden Globes and Oscars usually go for a movie with a message than one designed for the actor. I still think Boyhood is way ahead of Birdman

Glad to see this. I know sometimes there's a little big of a knee jerk "it's only winning cause GAYS" reaction but The Normal Heart was really well acted.
