It's happening everywhere. People are acting like American Sniper is the greatest film of this decade. When in reality, it's one step above a "movie of the week" on a network channel.

Well it was a poli board thread so I took it with an entire salt shaker. Still, a huge contrast from what people here are saying.

Hyperbole much... I liked them both and they are good films, not best picture quality but way above average. I'm guessing AS is the film that gets shite on this year because the non buffs seem to like it in droves. The Hootie effect will bite you in the arse every time.

No hyperbole there.
I thought it was a good movie, but I've noticed that while many are enthusiastically praising it, there are also many going to extremes to tear it apart and devalue it.
