quote:not true at all
we're far from loaded with talent
quote:he's quite good and everybody needs to give him some time to get adjusted. what team has the juco scoring leader coming off the bench? not many
Gray isn't that good
quote:good grief. if you think this then every other team in the conference freakin horrible.
TQ has improved and is good, Hornsby is ok
quote:what teams have a better guard on the bench?
Patterson is good, not great
quote:very untrue if you follow recruiting at all
Our bench is shallow
quote:because you probably don't follow recruiting
I just wouldn't call that "loaded"

quote:the only team in the conference with more talent is ky. that means lsu has top 2 talent. so, if you think this then the sec is really really horrible.
not deep. good starting team

on paper, it looks clear to me that this team is more talented than that team.

this year's guards are way better than '06. let's just say hornsby and d. mitchell cancel each other out (although mitchell was 5'11" and hornsby is 6'4"). let's say tq and temple cancel each other out (although tq is definitely a better all around player). who on '06 beats out the combination patterson and gray? tack minor and ben voogd?!? hilarious.
mickey is a better all around player than tyrus. who beats out martin? davis? no way. what would baby do when martin pops the 3 or takes the ball from the point and drives?
taz would be an interesting matchup problem for this year's team but, bridgewater isn't terribly dissimilar in his game.
quote:you should just quit period and i'm not "behind". as far as a starting roster, some of the '06 starters would have a lot of trouble vs this year's players. this year's starters are more well rounded although the '06 team played better team defense.

Good lord. Gray is a junior and we're more than halfway through the season. How much more "adjustment time" do you want to give him?
Basketball isn't like football. Young freshman can contribute immediately. Blaming Gray's poor play on "adjusting" is just excuse making.

There is no one on LSU's team this year that you would start at the point over Mitchell.
You would be hard pressed to say that TQ is difinitively better than Temple, although he could get there.
Then let's go to the frontcourt, which was one of the best in the country and could muscle anyone inside. Mickey and Martin would foul out before halftime.

Just stop.
The 2006 lineup of Davis, Thomas, Temple, Mitchell, andLazare/Rolle would destroy this year's starting 5.i cant believe you would even argue otherwise. Mitchell is better than any guard on our team this year. Davis and Thomas would own martin and Mickey down low.
ETA: TQ IS NOT better than Garrett Temple. Wow

You're acting like Thomas and Temple were good offensive players. TQ and Mickey blow them out of the water offensively.
Posted on 1/25/15 at 5:11 pm to JaxTiger10
Disagree completely. We would have 4 first rounders and a possible fifth in gray or QUARTERMAN
Posted on 1/25/15 at 5:13 pm to JaxTiger10
I agree temple is better than Q this year. But Q has a much higher ceiling. Which is a good thing since temple is a journeyman NBA player.

Mickey averages a whole 3 points more than Tyrus did.
thomas was decent offensively and more athletic than anyone on this year's team.
Temple was one the best defensive guards lsu has ever had.

Also Tyrus made the freshman all American team and was sec co defensive player of the year.

Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington disagree.

How are you able to with your head so far up Les's arse?

quote:first, so you're going to play 6 players the entire game? because if you are, they're going to be gassed with 10 mins left and that proves this team has a better bench. second, temple and mitchell vs tq/hornsby? that's a push at best but i think '14 takes that. pal, mitchell was FIVE ELEVEN. hornsby is SIX FOUR. hornsby has proven he can score tough points in the paint. that is not something dmitch could do.
The 2006 lineup of Davis, Thomas, Temple, Mitchell, andLazare/Rolle would destroy this year's starting 5
quote:mitchell might not even be in the top 4 of this year's guards. FIVE ELEVEN.
Mitchell is better than any guard on our team this year
Keith Hornsby 6-4
Josh Gray 6-1
Jalyn Patterson 6-0
Tim Quarterman 6-6
quote:offensively, it's not even in question. tq is MUCH better. defensively, temple gets the nod but not by much. tq is the better player.
TQ IS NOT better than Garrett Temple
the '06 bench was underrated, i'll give them that. but this bench has several players that were highly recruited. i think this team gets the slight edge in frontcourt and an overwhelming edge in guards.

quote:and he wasn't sharing the floor with martin, probably the best 6'10" swing man in the college game.
Mickey averages a whole 3 points more than Tyrus did.
quote:he wasn't "more athletic" than martin and he's not even a clearly better shot blocker than mickey who is leading the conference.
thomas was decent offensively and more athletic than anyone on this year's team.
quote:and yet tq is even better overall and has been coming off the BENCH
Temple was one the best defensive guards lsu has ever had.
