Not much of a tiger forever get a life !

You're right, I should put on the P&G sunglasses and the turnovers will magically go away. These kids are D - 1 athletes, I think they are big enough to handle it. Unlike you, they have probably handled criticism before. Pointing out that they had too many turnovers is not bashing, but if you just take the position that we won, no need to correct anything, then these issues aren't addressed and will cost you games.

My take on the criticism...both have huge high ceilings. You can see the talent, and darn proud they are Tigers. No way we are a winning team without them as our bigs behind them are not ready for prime time. However, they have to improve on their D. Mickey gears back down in the post way too easily. And the Turnovers for bigs are way too high. That's just an honest reflection of reality. And I bet they know it as well.

That big white boy was murdering them down low.
What a pant load. The vast majority of his shots were from the outside. The center from Louisiana did have a nice game against them in the post but overall, M&M had better combined stats than their two big guys.

You people are pathetic. Bash kids that play their hearts out for the university that you "love". Go be bama fans you worthless twats
Who is bashing them? Their defensive play is sub par and they were clearly outplayed down low last night. No one is questioning their effort for the team, you twat.

Not really. Kornet did most of his work out of the post and Jones, who's all-conference, was held below his season averages in points and rebounds.

Martin accounted for a few turnovers. Needs better ball control. His size is his strength
. Needs to learn to use it down low.

Are you kidding ? Every in game thread in all 3 sports here have people bitching all thread long. That's why I only hang in the baseball threads.
You people need to get a clue before bashing that guy.

Analyzing a basketball team is bashing? You don't take criticism well do you?
Posted on 1/26/15 at 5:26 am to ellessuuuu
One thing I do get tired of seeing is Martin trying to bring the ball up the floor himself or both Mickey and Martin handling the ball away from the basket. It leads to a lot of our turnovers. With that being said, they're both prolifent scorers. Not much wrong with their offensive games. Just want to see the team as a whole cut down on the mental errors and turnovers.

I completely agree. My assessment was what needs to change to see this team get better. Mickey and Martin are the biggest reason we are in 2nd in the SEC. But that doesn't mean there aren't things that can improved upon.

I didn't read the whole thread and I don't know who is bashing whom…what I do know is that if this team does not commit to being a better defensive team for 40 minutes, then this season will not have a happy ending. Other teams get WAY too many easy baskets close to the goal. A lot of it is due to guards penetrating, some of it is due to our bigs being "out-physicaled". Stretches of bad defense has bitten this team in the arse a couple of times (Texas A&M and Missouri) and has come close to doing so a couple of other times (Vandy, Georgia). I don't see this team having the mindset of "nobody is getting to the rim on us, no matter what"…and it is disturbing. The guys need to take more pride in defending.

Martin makes himself shorter when he attacks the rim. He doesn't elevate over the defense (unless he has a dunk) or put arc on his shot. He could be soooooo good if he learns to utilize the high, soft shot.

Don't know what game he was watching??
Jones spent most of the game on the bench.
Kornet, his backup, wore us out for much of the game.

And M & M had nothing to do with putting him there.
