You just have to know where you're going and find your "scene" in Jacksonville. People just show up for games or whatever and the stadium is in the middle of ghosttown, I mean downtown. It's a big enough and spread out enough city that you can't just wander around and find something to do. You need a plan.
Also, the beaches are actual real towns where people live and work. In the case of Jax Beach, it's a working class town with a lot of homeless people. I can see why people who are used to going to places like Destin may not find that appealing, but I love it.

Man I like the blind rabbit, salt life,etc. I live in nocatee( by ponte vedra bch) in st. John's county. I hang a lot in st. Augustine. We need to get a beer sometime when it warms up
