I know that his son is aware of this thread:
I think it's pretty evident that your father had a real impact on many people's lives, and if there is any solace to take away from this, it's that the man you knew as the greatest father, friend, and mentor was considered just that - a father figure, friend, and mentor - to countless people. You and your family are lucky to have been a part of such a rare person's life, and he was lucky to be able to go home after dealing with us all day to the comfort of yall's love.

While mentioning his kids, I have a worthwhile story. Someone asked what his daughters name is. He responded, "gertrude" of course this wasn't true but he was so quick with those ridiculous responses.

Put very well. Greg Sollie was put on this earth to make everyone around him a better person, and he did a hell of a job. I have no doubt that when my graduating class gathers for 10, 20, and 30 year reunions at least half the stories we will remember will come from Mr. Sollie's class.
