Leon, I think we could be friends IRL. This literally was all that crossed my mind to interest me to see it.The fact they don't make many big budget fantasy films makes this almost a must see for me.

Sword and sorcery movies were much bigger in the 80's, but certainly not quality films. Lord of the Rings was the first great fantasy movie, but it was so amazing that every studio was afraid to venture into that genre because they knew it was highly unlikely they would match the greatness of Lord of the Rings. One theory now is that the Hobbit was clearly not on a level with Lord of the Rings but will still end up grossing over $3 billion as a trilogy. So now there might be a revived fantasy genre. I really hope so. Just don't give us garbage like Dungeons and Dragons and don't base it off of young adult.
Game of Thrones is obviously fantasy and very popular, so perhaps that will also kick start a wave of fantasy films like we have a plethora of superhero films. There is tons of great material to choose from. I think the Chronicles of Amber would make a great fantasy movie or series of movies.

Aye, all of this be true.
I would love to see some stuff from Stephen Lawhead and Morgan Llywellyn.
Really looking forward to the new Shannara series on MTV. Really hoping they do it right. Favreau is running it, so it gives me some hope. Something like Shannara is really too big to be a movie series

shite, a movie about Robert's Rebellion would be KILLER.
And it's such a shame that the fantastic stories of Robert E. Howard have turned out such awful movies.
