The players are going to blow this money on stupid shite, then complain that their "pay" (and scholarships) aren't enough.

I can confirm this is true. All my teammates on scholarship wasted their off campus checks on stupid shite. When we would get stipends for bowl games they would blow their stipend for the entire trip in one night at a strip club. This money will be mismanaged.
