I thought it was fricking excellent, and really the only thing in the second act the trailers ruined was the fact there were waves the size of the Wall in Westeros there. It was everything I hoped for it to be, except it seemed to be too smart for the popcorn eating masses and seemed to dumb some things down for smart people in order to make the film accessible to the masses.

I've got a great passion for space travel and knowing we're going in the wrong direction as a species, and this film finally addresses something I've been trying to tell people for about a decade. It really is the spiritual successor to 2001, and unlike Gravity, it will have legs on DVD and I don't think a large portion of the audience really realized what they've watched yet. I'll give it about 10 years before it's widely regarded as Nolan's greatest film to this date at least, since I really think this is a film that will be dissected for years to come. Definitely my favorite film of this year.

Now just make an accurate movie on the possibility of the Singularity (ie: not robots taking over), and the two subjects in film I've most sought will be complete.

This quote alone makes the movie not live up to the hype. Sorry.

Good movie, decent, but yeah the hype killed it. It's worth a watch, but not worth much thought.
