There are some billboards around Baton Rouge up for LSU Hoops. They send out emails, and have the radio shows. I don't exactly know what else they can do...

I try to do my part, and others try to do their part. It has to be a grass roots effort to excite the fanbase.

Serious question for those bitching about the lack of marketing, what the hell else are they supposed to do?

I get an email 1-2 a week from LSU sport telling me what is going on that week. The coaches show is not only on the radio, but is also on TV. I'm sure that if fan goes to just about any LSU related website you will see something about basketball.

People who follow LSU sports know it is basketball season. It comes at the same time every year. IMO, the success of the football and baseball team has "spoiled" the fanbase. They essentially refuse to come to any games unless their team highly ranked or considered a national power. Plus, for some fans it is apparently very difficult for them to "focus" on two sports at the same time. (see all the "it's football season" or "baseball starts in X days" post when people talk about basketball on here)

Now to be fair, the basketball program hasn't held up its end of the bargain either. Over the last 5 years it seems like every time the team starts to build a little momentum they stub their toe. That happened this year already against Mizzou.
