Not really contested, IMO. My definition of contested is if more than one person is going for the same rebound. 3.5 feet? Really?
ETA. I get what you're saying about moving it to 2 feet. That'd be more accurate.

That's what it says when you hover over the category header. The question is how did they arrive at that. Considering the size of the larger than average humans we're talking about, 3.5 feet seems like it'd be in the ball park of the width of an NBA player. So having a defender less than the one person away being contested doesn't seem crazy. But I do agree that when he's in "traffic" he rarely seems to hold onto the ball.
