The rest is hogwash. Why wouldn't a good DC want to coach the talent we bring in here. Chavis has been able to field strong, nationally ranked units through some of the worst offensive production in FBS football.

Why don't you and LSU focus on this?
Hell Chavis said it himself. Paraphrasing here, but it's nice to go to a place with an offense.
