it has not been unusually long. look at how quickly Oklahoma replaced its oc. how many of you would be happy with a quick hire from east Carolina.

Serious question, how long do most of the coordinator searches last? I can't imagine most of them have as many names linked to the job as this LSU DC spot has. It was basically called by a few on here that as soon as this spot came open, DC's all around the country were about to get pay raises.

I don't think it's necessarily been "too long". I'm patient.
That said, most HC's maintain a living list of potential replacements should someone leave. It's hard for me to think Les was altogether caught off-guard when Chavis left such that he had to cold-start his search.
