A lot of people overestimate the value of the impact that a coach has on a game. When top players are having a bad game (and it may be because of breaking up with a girlfriend) or when the players on the other team are having career games against you, there's not much a great coach can do but ride it out. A coach can call great plays but the other teams luckily defends them. Many fans seem to think that a coach should be able to snap his fingers and everything resets course. They seem to think that a great coach means certain victory EVERY SINGLE time a game is played. So, they become vocal about what crappy coaches ours are because we don't win EVERY SINGLE time.

We Will Win-You are missing the point. Against Missouri at practically every position on the floor LSU had an advantage physically. It became an effort and energy game. When teams are evenly matched on physical talent and one team or a few players are having a great night, then there is nothing you can do about it.

But when you have several advantages over your opponent and the EFFORT is not there that's when you lose to a below average team like Missouri. And playing DEFENSE is more about EFFORT AND ENERGY. That is where LSU was deficient against Missouri. It doesn't take a GREAT coach to demand that from his team. Can you name me a starter on Missouri team that would start for LSU???
