This is still inconclusive IMO. He's the same age as Tyreke, paid less for similar games. The Pistons implosion just puts him in the spotlight more.

Overall, Dumars has done some good and some bad. If he's able to recognize where it went wrong, I think he is competent enough to avoid some of those mistakes.
