just wondering what is the reason for taking off your shoes for squats or deadlift?
does it help, comfort, etc..

I go shoeless for DL and squats. To address the reason, I couldn't keep the weight off the balls of my feet. I tried to buy the most flat bottomed shoe and still couldn't. In socks I can keep more weight on my heals. Out of about ten regular gym goers at my workout time 2 of us do it.
