Is this just a money making gimmick or does it really provide real benefits for kids participating in the program?

Is this like the Derek Zoolander Center for Kids Who Can't Read Good and Want To Do Other Stuff Good Too?

I did it in 7th grade I think. Not really much of a poin to itt other than some early practice I guess for the SAT.

Other stuff may come from it, I wouldn't know though because I don't think I scored good on it then, I don't remember.

I did this shite. The only number I remember was my SAT score was the a 1520 or something like that. They also give you a book with a bunch of cool camps in it.

yeah this wasn't a big deal. For parents, it basically tells them "if you're kid fricks up in high school, you're doing a bad job"

This. My son made a 19 when in the 7th grade, now we get solicited to all kinds of week long camps at college campuses across the country that look very good, but he hasn't had much interest in attending them.

They aren't cheap either. One was about $3,500 if I recall correctly.
