As ridiculous as it sounds that anyone would reject a check for $975 million, she was in fact an economist and a lawyer, not just a hob-nobbing unemployed/passive socialite (whose spousal economic value can be determined to be a great in divorce proceedings), so she is playing the cards she has and that she earned.

It is as appalling to me as it is to you, but she is highly educated (which he benefited from, likely) and one should be expecting her to be bringing some serious game to the divorce proceedings.
