I'd rather him taking more 3s, but I think it's good that when it's not going in, which has been a lot this season, he now has another tool in the arsenal to lean on.

Where'd all those shots at the rim come from in Orlando? He had half as many offensive rebounds per game back then so it's not like they were put backs.

His OREB %. 11% and 13% his last 2 years there. Highest in NO is 9.5. Per 36, he was at 3.3 and 4.1 OREB/G those years. Never topped 3 in NO.

Some of that is an increase in minutes leading to conserving energy, but he played 32 MPG there in 11/12. Could also just be an anomaly those years. Or the Dwight Effect. Or his back might be causing more problems than we know.
