Isn't there a good spot right near the public launch? And if so is it productive when its colder? Any help would be appreciated. Was going to either launch there or Basson's. Looking for reds mainly but specks would be nice too. Thanks

Yes GM is good right now. Fish the points and moving water. Give us a good report!

Caught a few specks a month ago out of T-Pops. Fish the dead end canals and cuts.

Winds prolly gonna be blowing like a bus load of figs on a road trip. I wouldn't go tomorrow. I'm not trying to discourage you, just giving my honest opinion. However, I hope you smoke arse if you do go.

the dead end canals can be productive during cold weather. however, a rising barometer on a windy day is still a rising barometer on a windy day. wait untill day-2 after a cold front.

Fished there last Monday in my yak. Caught about 6 keeper specks and another 6 or 7 throwbacks. A boat saw me and gave me 3 specks they didn't feel like cleaning as they were heading in and another boat gave me 2 they caught and didn't wanna clean at the launch. Worked out good for me but fishing was slow. There was no tide and a north wind that day, though. Like jimbeam said, points and moving water was the key to the few I caught.
