Most of the OReillys, Napa, Autozone kinds of store will have them behind the counter. Some of them have even let me use it myself in the parking lot. It may save you a few bucks.

Yes, those are free to use, but just read codes. I need live monitoring because it isn't throwing a code. I also don't know what specific parameters to look for once I get the scanner
