I'm not defending Christianity or its history.
I'm defending the Christians of the 21st century. I think Christianity's story is just as ludicrous as Scientology's is, but there's a world of difference in why someone would believe in Christianity vs. Scientology when you throw in sociological factors.

Why should Christians get the benefit of 2000 years of evolution while Scientology does not? Maybe in 2000 years Scientology will take over as the prominent religion in the way you see Christianity now.
