you are wasting your time Fox. the info is out there and its indisputable if someone really wants to investigate it. its not even debatable.

What about Baptist and other Protestant branch offs, are those less important because they are only 700 years old?
Are you just looking for things to say that are contrary to my statements, or do you have an actual point you're trying to make in arguing with me?

I'm defending the Christians of the 21st century. I think Christianity's story is just as ludicrous as Scientology's is, but there's a world of difference in why someone would believe in Christianity vs. Scientology when you throw in sociological factors.
Why should Christians get the benefit of 2000 years of evolution while Scientology does not? Maybe in 2000 years Scientology will take over as the prominent religion in the way you see Christianity now.

again, clearly you don't know very much about scientology...I get the misunderstanding, but please, read about them for yourself.

You're completely missing my point. My point isn't that Christianity is more legitimate just because it has a 2000 year head start. My point is that a 2000 year head start gave them an advantage. Do you disagree?

Yeah, way to go OP, ya fricking dick.
Also, God is dead and L. Ron was a con-man.

I swear to FSM I never thought I'd be the person appearing to defend Christianity on a message board.
My ultra-atheist teenage self would be appalled.

I disagree, because I believe more in life outside of our world than I do in a book written thousands of years ago.
One day, everyone will realize that all religions are one in the same. A belief in the transfer of energy from one form to another, complicated and confused by individual thoughts and ideals(yes, I know this isn't your argument, Fox).

What does your personal belief have to do with the discussion of Christianity as a factor within society?
It's like you're not even reading what I'm saying and you're assuming I'm some Christian dude.
Posted on 1/5/15 at 2:50 pm to efrad
I've clearly read a post which insinuated you were not Christian. That doesn't change what I said. I'm not saying one is better than the other, I'm just using your arguments against you.
"Christianity is older so that gives it merit"
Ok, everything has to start somewhere. And neither is old at all in the context of life in general.
"21st century Christians are not evil"
Ok, and maybe 41st century Scientology leaders won't be either.
I'm more so pointing to the fact the people as a whole don't tend to be the generalization we label them with due to their leaders at the time. Hence me not seeing much difference between Scientology and Christianity.

I don't know what nonsensical conversation is being had about the merits of what people believe...but from a logical standpoint, the above statement is ridiculous
the 21st century is much more knowledgeable than the 14th century. In a backwards way, that's the comparison you're making
Posted on 1/5/15 at 3:04 pm to DelU249
I agree with you actually. And so from that statement you could take that something developed in the 21st century would be based much more in knowledge and therefore acceptable than something that's just been spoken and practiced since the 14th century. But that point is aimed more at the other guys comment of "Something that's been around 2000 years holds more merit, no?"

It's funny hearing people who probably practice Christianity calling Scientology a cult.
So, you're a Scientologist then? frick you buddy your "religion" is a joke and an absurdity. You've wasted your life. Is that what you wanted to hear?

I am unconcerned with the merits of Scientology's "teachings"
and again, that is not what I nor the majority of disapproving people find objectionable about the organization...spiritualism, hypnosis, transcendental meditation...it's all bullshite, but no one objects to it like they do Scientology. David Lynch, the film director, runs a cult and no one is writing articles about him.
again, you're looking on the surface and just assuming the most base thing is what everyone else finds repugnant.
Posted on 1/5/15 at 3:13 pm to LSUTigersVCURams
I am most certainly not a scientologist. But the again, maybe I am, as I already stated that I think all religions are one in the same.
