is it like most movies that are based on a true story and just takes a couple of minor liberties with the story or does it change major points?

I could see it being really off base since Hollywood has such a liberal tendency and no one wants to be accused of making MLK/civil rights movement look bad.

My gf wants to see it but I don't want to go if I'm gonna be mad the whole time

FTR, I am not one of those who screams up and down about Hollywood being liberal so I can handle a little whitewashing

Well, for starters, the main actor looks NOTHING like the real deal. It ruins the whole experience for me.

Critics are in love with the movie which automatically makes me think it is basically just some liberal garbage
