Chavis got a mixed reception from LSU fans.

Will his replacement be better?

Pendergast?

Can answer this until a couple years down the road with the new DC.

I'll wait til I see our defense play a snap. But Pendergast sounds good to me right now.

Can be a blessing.

No one knows at this point, but it could be even better for recruiting and overall success.

I liked Chavis and understand we had the #1 defense in the SEC this season, but we sure got annihilated by Miss st and Au.. and when we did have an elite offense just last season his defense was atrocious. Yes, they were young, but that was still a bit absurd. He seems to really need elite talent, which he has had at LSU.

It truly depends on the hire, if it is a great mind like Pendergast that could be huge for next season as he has his defenses ready the very first season.

I say good. Just because I'm tired of giving up 3rd and longs like it was 3rd and 1. Hopefully our next DC is on the field and not in the box. I feel like these young guys need their leader on the field with them through the good and bad.

I'm honestly sick of not being able to defend a lead with less than a minute to go. i'll go with good.

If LSU lands Pendergast and Coach O this would be an upgrade for the defense and recruiting.

Basically, it would jump start the program again.

after losing the Bama game in 2012 and 2014 i'm ready for a change. i'll go with good.

Next year the Tigers are gonna be strong with the rest of the west taking a step back. I like us next year.

Of course it depends on the DC hire. The program needs an infusion of energy, and dare I say youth. However, if Les does not figure out how to recruit and coach the qb position, it won't matter.
